  1. This movie is horrible. Why anyone put money behind a script like this is terrible. What did the people say to the money marks who funded this?..”Skating is popular, they will tune into to see the skate tricks”…terrible.

Movie is a 100 minutes, and about 30 minutes of it is Skating trick montoge.

When a movie needs to have quest appearencecs of that guy Bam from “JackAss” you know the movie is in trouble.

I wanted to get a quality board for my son who had been asking for a skateboard for some time. I read many reviews of how department store boards were cheaply made and often broke endangering the rider. To prevent this, I bought the Positiv skateboard. Although it seems to be the board we wanted, the box it came in had little tape and not enough stuffing paper inside. This allowed the board to fall around the much too big box it was packed in and get behind the closed box flaps. Once it did, it fell upon the scarce tape. Since it was poorly taped, the board became exposed and banged against whatever it layed on or was placed upon it. Like the cement floor it rested on when the UPS man delivered it. The edge was clearly damaged and you could see it had been banged multiple times.

I would not recommend a Positiv skateboard since they cannot package what they sell safely and securly. Nobody will be happy with a delivered damaged gift.

I should have returned this, I know. The board my older daughter wants will definitely not be a Positiv board. My experience with them has been very less than positive.

Possibly one of the most lame jaded skateboard books written without good fact checking and bought and paid for by a fausto vitello mythology of SF- centric [stuff].
It is full of horrible misconceptions and leaves out the real people who built the sport. It is total BS by a dude in the frozen north who is so detached from the scene.

absolute GARBAGE, should be a 0.

I felt like this book was pretty much the same as Occupation Skateboarder. Lots of the same pics and stories, but okay.

Simply stated: This book is garbage! If you are a real skater and really know skating you know that this book is for those who know almost nothing about our sport. The book not only looks horrible (circa late 80’s ugly post new wave design), there is alomst nothing to be gained from looking at the pictures or reading the 3rd grade level writing throughout. If people want to really know something important about REAL SKATEBOARDING they should go buy “DOGTOWN – The Legend of the Z-BOYS” That is the real skateboarder’s BIBLE. The Concrete Wave book really is a piece of doo-doo. The history of skateboarding? hardly. Don’t buy it, in fact if you own it, you may just want to recycle it. Anyone who gave this more than a 2 star review is not a real hard core skater, that is obvious to anyone who is. SKATE4LIFE!

  12. DeckDogz is a modern day cult classic skateboarding film. The Australian film stars Sean Kennedy, Richard Wilson and Ho Thi Lu. They are a group of kids who love to skateboard and like many skateboarders they find themselves at odd with authority figures. They call themselves the Deckdogz. Unlike the Larry Clark skate boarding film Wassup Rockers, Deckdogz is more of a comedy. For example when one character gets heated or upset a red light buzzes and flashes on his head. Like many skate boarders the Deck Dogz are outsiders and outlaws of sorts. The Deckdogz have dreams that will take them far beyond suburbia. The trio wants to become professional skate boarders and to make their dream a reality they decide that they want to skate for Tony Hawk. Tony Hawk is looking for new talent. The only problem is the Deckdogz have to make their way to the beach bowl on their own after school problems and problems at home pretty much mean that their parents and no adults will be available to help them on their journey.

Deckdogz is a cool teen comedy and it’s enjoyable. Fans of skate board culture will enjoy this film the most.

This is the worst movie i have ever seen in my life! It’s a complete embarrassment to skateboarding in general. The whole premise to this movie is ridiculous and totally predictable. Some kid wants to get sponsored, become professinal, and become a celebrity. Big Surprise. I’m sorry but every skater in this movie has totally turned their back on what skateboardings about. Even if it seems like they would never do so, i’m sorry but they have. Skateboarding is not mtv, movies, espn , skaterade or anything that has been throw at the masses to make a buck. Even the non-skateboarding stuff, like the humor, is lame. Hey kiddies don’t be fooled by this, you’re better than that. These people are humans just like you and I. No better. Remember, skateboarding is just you and your board, nothing more. Not a t-shirt, magazine, label, video game, any pro-skater, tv show or movie. Think about it and have a fun time skating with your friends.

I injoyed this book alot because it has influenced my life. The book has influenced my life by not judging people for the things they do.Another aspect is that he has showen is Intellectual Perserverance in his every day life. He has done this by not giving up on his Skateboarding company when times were rough. He has reminded me of my own family and how we all have overcome hard times and how we still keep positive.

Helmet did not fit my 10 year old as product description indicated. It was too big even with the adjustment pads included. The helmet itself looks like good quality but would not buy something online that needs to be fitted again as this helmet will sit in the closet until my daughter can wear it.

It’s only almost good enough (not even) to check out at the book store . . . No reason to buy it. And I know skating, REAL skating! This is WHACK.

I was surprised how quickly the helmet arrived and was pleased with it. It was a gift for my grandson for Easter. He has worn it at school most every day.
